Description:

An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen within the physical health service within the Doncaster Care Group based at Tickhill Road Hospital, Doncaster. This bespoke position is a joint post between the dietetic and speech and language therapy services.
The successful candidate will support the Dietetic Services to deliver oral and enteral nutrition support, to patients in a range of health and social care settings. They will also support the Speech and Language Therapy Service supporting patients with dysphagia (swallowing problems) and communication needs.

Assist in the assessment and treatment of patients under the guidance of a dietitian/speech and language therapist
To manage own caseload and to provide a high standard of treatment and advice to meet the needs of patients within agreed guidelines and protocols.
Provide advice and support to patients and carers throughout the patient pathway.
Supports patients and carers in coming to terms with their condition, providing ongoing support, encouraging them to promote health and wellbeing.
To work collaboratively with colleagues in health, social care, local authority and other agencies to meet the needs of patients.
Deliver training sessions to patients, care home staff and community nursing staff
To participate in student training and the induction programmes for new dietitians and speech and language therapists, students and assistant staff as required
