Te Tari Pūreke has been stood up as the firearms regulator in Aotearoa New Zealand and is the new place for people interested in the safe use and possession of firearms. Our vision is the possession and use of firearms in Aotearoa is the safest in the world. To achieve this, Te Tari Pūreke delivers four core functions: effectively implementing the firearms licensing system; managing the Firearms Registry; educating people to enable compliance with their legislative responsibilities; and promoting the safe use of legitimate firearms. We are committed to fostering a culture of safety and responsible firearms use by working collaboratively with the firearms community, other stakeholders, and agencies, to promote safety, responsible gun ownership, and licence holder awareness of their responsibilities of their responsibilities.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Digital and Content Editor to support our work. Te Tari Pūreke has prioritised communications to build trust and confidence with our audiences, and this role is vital to achieving that. You will be at the forefront of delivering an online user experience that is customer-focused and intuitive. You will be responsible for coordinating the publishing of high-quality content to both our website and social channels (Facebook and Linked-In). You will ensure opportunities are realised, messaging is consistent, and users have a great online experience.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Collaborating closely with communications and marketing colleagues, and subject matter experts, to plan, create and publish engaging, easy to follow and informative content (written, photo or video).
Ensuring online content adheres to our identity/style guide including to an agreed editorial direction and tone of voice.
Being able to identify risk and being able to escalate accordingly when you identify content that needs to be responded to promptly.
Facilitating effective and timely workflow processes, especially maximising the use of content by repurposing for different channels to reach the right audience – including social media, websites, internal communications, and advertising.
Acting as our subject matter expert in publishing web content and social channels, maintaining expert knowledge in content presentation, usability, and accessibility.

This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $95,057.00 - $100,626.00, dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
