BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or a related field
  • 10+ Years of progressive technical team lead or project management experience
  • Thorough understanding of the project management discipline, techniques, and tools.
  • Tested and robust project management skills, including sponsor and risk management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of information systems technology discipline
  • Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with senior business management and peers.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and reporting on projects, initiatives, and budgets.
  • Strong business and technical process design and documentation skills
  • Experience in directing IT policies and procedures.
  • Ability to develop and execute stakeholder communication plans
  • Comfort in presenting to executive-level management
  • Attention to detail is critical. Proactive attention to daily tasks, organization, and cleanliness
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Strong understanding of other financial systems in a professional services organization – TM1, Oracle, SAP, Hyperion, database, or other query or report writing tools
  • One or more Technical Certification – (MS Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), ITIL Practitioner, CISA, PMP)
  • An individual with PMP certification is preferred.
  • Experience working and communicating with Finance and Accounting teams

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Information Technology Group (ITG) is a collection of people, processes, and technology investments designed to achieve the business goals of FTI Consulting. The Director, Global Information Systems, works within the GIS team to support application and technology solutions for FTI with a primary focus on the EMEA region. The individual provides technical and managerial oversight to one or more application platforms, fosters a productive work culture, evaluates and manages technology budgets, and successfully delivers the goals and objectives of assigned projects, people, and initiatives.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Influences others both internally and externally through complex projects and ITG sub-functions
  • Coordinate between internal and vendor resources among different timezones
  • Responsible for the definition and implementation of the strategic plan related to FTI’s EMEA Information Systems
  • Manages a portfolio of programs advancing information system capabilities
  • Utilizes established project management methodology, templates, and processes to manage and report project-related tasks.
  • Plans and direct resolution of issues related to service delivery of the portfolio of application(s) under management
  • Works with business and technology leadership to identify and resolve issues.
  • Directly supervises middle managers of sub-teams and other staff to complete projects and assigned tasks
  • Capacity to motivate a team without regular management oversight, ensuring the complete attainment of team goals on time, within budget, and established frameworks.
  • The position advises various FTI organizations upon request, providing consultations on specific projects on a short-term basis and resolving technical problems.
  • Manages vendor relationships to ensure the successful delivery of services aligned with contracts and agreements.
  • Ensures that the business and technical architecture of FTI’s information systems match customer requirements
  • Deep understanding of core operational systems and how information systems support business objectives
  • Assists in ensuring FTI’s IT policies and procedures are implemented, tracked, and reported
  • Leads the EMEA information system support function and laisses with other IT organizations in EMEA and other FTI regions
  • Delivers projects that cross operational boundaries in a complex matrixed organization
  • Ensures personnel adhere to project management methodologies and takes appropriate accountability for deliverables
  • Implements services to meet or exceed established SLAs and expectations of service.
  • Responsible and accountable for vendor contracts, purchase orders, and other purchases related to EMEA
  • Identify process improvements and system enhancements to simplify and streamline the process, be responsive to changing management needs
  • Continuously assess and develop appropriate information for senior management
  • Works closely with EMEA Finance teams and acts as an interface between EMEA Finance teams and the US GIS team to communicate, collaborate on, and drive implementation of the EMEA GIS improvement requirements as they relate to finance processes (month-end close, billing, etc.) or other projects (eg, set up of new entities, system migrations, implementation of new tools, etc.)
  • Provide continuous support to EMEA finance teams on GIS-related matters to ensure efficient continuity of finance operations.
