Description:
The Senior Director, Global Design Standards (m/f/d) is a senior leadership role, responsible for leading a team of Design Managers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and overseeing design standards of NTT facilities construction projects. The design effort involves coordination between cross functional experts and external vendors/consultants. This position requires a strong background in Data Center design, commissioning, and operations with a proven track record of developing and implementing global design standards.
The Senior Director, Global Design Standards is a creative, detail-oriented problem solver with excellent communication skills that can achieve high quality standards while carefully considering cost and feasibility factors. This role requires good judgment to meet project objectives, with the ability to collaborate and manage the accountabilities of a diverse interdisciplinary team focused on creating and maintaining the best facilities environments in industry.

This is a hybrid role that can be located in Germany or the United Kingdom with 50 % international travel.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation and execution of stakeholder/vendor agreements, defining Scope of Work, Scope of Services and Fees based on project requirements, design standards, and system specifications
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the SME team and manage the technical issues that arise in design, construction, and commissioning
- Collaborations with cross functional teams as to product to build, options and timeline, and provide solutions to meet project goals
- Responsible for ensuring that the global design standards are followed unless project conditions warrant deviations. If so, obtain consensus and document
- Ensure compliance with NTT standards on all projects and assure that these standards are up to date with industry best practices and meet the company’s business objectives (Emphasis on value-engineering)
- Assist in the preparation and review of budgets and forecasts related to anticipated design and construction expenditures
- Develop and maintain vendor relationships (Contractors, Architects, Engineers, Consultants, etc.) to provide cost-effective services for NTT projects
- Review Contracts and Scope documents to verify needs based on project requirements
- Coordinate with internal NTT organization on sustainability issues related to design and best practices
- Ensure that all stakeholders are up to date with regards to design schedule and potential issues
- Prepare monthly project reports regarding the budget, schedule, and scope objectives of assigned projects
