SENIOR DIRECTOR* GLOBAL TRADE COMPLIANCE

We are looking for you to join us as a dedicated and experienced trade compliance lead. As the Senior Director Global Trade Compliance, you will build a globally applicable Trade Compliance program and team which ensures that BioNTech meets all legal and regulatory export and sanctions requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Law degree, BS/BA degree in International Trade
  • 13+ years of experience in global trade compliance, life science industry experience and team leading experiences preferred
  • Knowledgeable of global trade and sanction regulations, especially German; Eu and US export control and sanction law
  • Strong system skills relating to Trade Compliance and screening solutions (e.g. SAP and SAP GTS)
  • Extensive professional experience in a dynamic Global Trade environment
  • Customer oriented with a service mentality
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in English and German; other languages welcome

Responsibilities:

  • Build a global trade and sanctions compliance program including policies, procedures, and IT tools as needed
  • Ensure the company’s compliance with global export and sanctions laws
  • Provide strategic guidance on incorporating trade compliance requirements into the company’s business processes
  • Build and manage a global trade compliance team
  • Conduct and monitoring sanctions list screenings, checks of embargos and end use restrictions, item classifications and export control license management
  • Organize and provide trade and sanctions compliance training and maintain training records
  • Ensure strong teamwork and collaboration with all relevant internal and external stakeholders
