We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Director, Head of Climate & Sustainability Integration to join the BNY Sustainability team. This role is located in New York, NY – HYBRID.

Responsibilities:
IN THIS ROLE, YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS:
Design and advance integration of BNY’s sustainability strategy in close partnership with the Chief Sustainability Officer with a special focus on transition frameworks and execution plans spanning lines of business (e.g., capital markets, credit, investment, wealth)
Establish a track record of accountability and successful leadership/execution of projects with multiple contributors, including driving stakeholder working groups and providing consistent updates on climate-related milestones to executive leadership teams and formal governance bodies
Be a change agent across the business and serve as a trusted advisor for the Chief Sustainability Officer with the ability to steer senior stakeholders towards shred success and negotiate solutions that help meet goals and requirements
Oversee work driven by the Global Climate Strategy team and provide matrixed leadership to embedded teams in support of sustainability related outcomes, including partnering closely on operational implementation
Serve as a proactive expert on climate finance themes, risks, and market evolution to inform ideation around the commercial value of sustainability in existing services/offerings and product development
Support commercial engagement with account leads and clients by effectively communicating BNY’s climate strategy and goals and identifying solutions that help our clients achieve their own sustainability goals
Determine a consistent approach and POV in partnership with Legal, Risk, and reporting entities on emerging climate disclosure rules while overseeing quality assurance for voluntary disclosures (e.g., CDP)
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, WE’RE SEEKING THE FOLLOWING:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience required. MBA, Masters of Public Policy, or other relevant graduate degree focusing on social responsibility preferred.
Investment Management experience preferred.
15+ years of experience with a proven track record in sustainability in financial services and/or sector related management consulting, strong knowledge of implication and application of global sustainable finance policy and regulations on financial institutions, with 5-7 years of management experience, preferred
Demonstrated success in navigating ambiguity and managing teams towards delivering actionable, high-impact solutions for complex and high-visibility challenges
Ability to work horizontally and lead peers through influence and quickly become a trusted partner though demonstration of technical expertise, execution focus, and collaborative approach
Intellectual curiosity and a global enterprise mindset that enables efficiency and effectiveness when working across a diverse set of environments
Effective communicator who can present technical information with precision and simplicity (e.g., working with and developing presentations for executive committee members)
