Who are you?
Are you passionate about building modern, scalable web applications and eager to be part of an innovative tech startup? We are seeking a Senior Director Data Science to join the team at Siftmed. This role will assist in analysing data and supporting our analytics and development teams. As a fast growing startup this is a great opportunity to influence the direction of the product and build the foundation of the supporting technology. We are looking for a strategic problem solving leader who is able to identify issues in our data analyzing approach and suggest innovative solutions to solve them.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and run SiftMeds data analytics team who are responsible for developing cutting edge approaches to analyzing and organizing medical data
  • Translate data requirements from requestors of varying levels of technical expertise into data solutions.
  • Identify, collect, clean, analyze, and model large amounts of complex data in a distributed fashion.
  • Interpret data analysis results and provide actionable reports
  • Build and advance our infrastructure as required to meet data analysis requirements
  • Build pipelines or tools as needed to help the analytic teams
  • Design and implement tools, data models, and dashboards to help visualize or monitor data
  • Mentor and train other data analysts and similar roles.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest applicable technologies; attend applicable training, conferences, and learn new tools/technologies as needed.
  • Prioritize and complete multiple tasks with little or no supervision.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills And Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with large-scale data and analytics solutions
  • A strong team player and works well within a diverse, cross-functional team.
  • Ability to use different approaches to solve hard data oriented problems
  • Highly skilled in Structured Query Language (SQL) programming.
  • Skilled in one or more scripting languages. Python preferred.
  • Experience analyzing large amounts of complex data.
  • Experience producing intelligence reports that highlight patterns and trends that can be used to make decisions that could impact the business strategies.
  • Ability to present findings to diverse audiences.
  • Experience in turning business use cases and requirements into technical solutions
  • Good understanding of API development, ETL processes and integrations
  • Experience in business processing mapping of data and analytics solutions
  • Experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or cloud/infrastructure technologies
  • Experience in managing teams, being a technical coach
  • Experience driving knowledge transfer and/or training programs
  • Experience with agile delivery methodologies, proof of concepts and prototyping
  • Experience with preparing data for Data Science and Machine Learning purposes
  • Ability to conduct data profiling, cataloguing, and mapping for technical design and construction of technical data flows
  • Experience with different database technologies (e.g., SQL database(s), NoSQL such as Hadoop, MongoDB, Redis, etc.
  • Above and beyond: experience working with data warehouses and data lakes.
