Homebridge believes that quality care comes from skilled and supported caregivers. As California’s largest employer-trainer of caregivers and the State’s largest IHSS agency provider, Homebridge operates multiple programs that benefit caregivers and their clients across the State.
In San Francisco, Homebridge provides nearly 1/2 million hours of in-home care to more than 1,000 complexly-diagnosed IHSS MediCAL beneficiaries each year, with a staff of more than 300 caregivers. The agency is also the major provider of training courseware to IHSS Career Pathways, a statewide program for government-funded in-home caregivers.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Director of People, leads the charge in developing and implementing our talent strategy. This leader creatively drives initiatives to improve organizational development, employee orientation and training, benefits plans, policies, and guidelines.
Reporting to our CEO, this role will be instrumental in cultivating the internal values at Homebridge. We require a person who will champion and embody Homebridge’ s culture, mission, and values, and ensure that people policies are reflective. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Solid understanding of federal, state and city labor laws including FLSA, FMLA, COBRA, EEO, ADA, ACA, immigration, and workplace safety
  • Expert knowledge in broad range of HR policies, functions, and leading practices
  • Proven leader in a rapidly evolving, fast-paced organization, with the ability to step into an established organization, quickly gain respect, and methodically implement robust and effective practices and technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, empower, and develop talent and teams; broker relationships across teams; and promote a culture of self-start, transparency, accountability, and collaboration
  • Proven strategic planning and project management skills with the ability to translate strategies into actions and effectively manage workload
  • Superior communication skills across all levels and departments, with an ability to articulate a clear and compelling vision and lead others to implement it

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

At least 10 years of progressive HR experience, including working in a union and/or non-profit environment. A SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR certification and/or a bachelor’s or master’s degree in human resources is highly preferred.
