Broadridge is growing! We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer Lead to join our team in Toronto. This role within the organization is responsible for the technology service delivery for the GTO International Business Units, supporting multiple products within it. We need an individual to join a team leading a significant program of work and ongoing service to both external and internal clients in a fast paced, multi-client, multiproduct, financial services environment with both in-sourced and outsourced IT services. We are looking for someone who can focus on improving service reliability, performance, and operability of Services. You will have your hand on the pulse of the service and will play a key role in fixing and resolving service issues. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to create future automation and tooling that will enable us to continuously improve our service. Your role in driving improvements in availability, effort and velocity will delight our customers with and while reducing costs of Operations. Are you looking to join a creative and dynamic team? Responsibilities

  • Administration & Maintenance of AWS environments as it pertains to the products you support.
  • Oversight and in-depth knowledge of High Availability, Disaster recovery, diagnostics & forensics, troubleshooting, vulnerability management, patching, incident management, problem management, change management in a technology role.
  • Ability to engage internal and external 3rd Party/Vendors for support.
  • Act as a partner concern point for technical issues pursuant within the Technology Services team. Ability to lead Performance troubleshooting and capacity planning efforts.
  • Work with system hardware vendors for ongoing support issues, release schedules, and general system administration issues.
  • Technical understanding of OS, Network, Storage and Databases in large datacenter environments including firewall, anti-virus, proxy, file transfer, and other enterprise-wide software.
  • Administration and Monitoring of the IT infrastructure including backup solutions.
  • Support of new client project related requests working closely with Project Managers, Product Management, Development, and Pre-Sales teams.
  • Effectively manage and coordinate work efforts and critical activities from external service providers (data center and network providers) and internal technology teams through resolving issues, concerns or constraints and appropriately advance to ensure activities stay on track.
  • Develop standard methodologies and operating procedures to support sustained operational efficiency Service Management.
  • Ability to align with and directly service, internal business units, and external clients.
  • Ability to directly interact with business unit executives and project management to communicate operational status, key project status, and business value of services produced.
  • Manage the service to external clients against a pre-defined responsibility matrix.
  • Ability to innovate and constantly improve efficiencies and reduce incidents.
  • Track record of success in a matrix organization. SLA Management.
  • Ensure SLA and operational efficiency are reached daily for products managed by third-party data center provider and internal support teams using resources and leadership within these organizations assigned to support these products.
  • Pro-actively address issues to avoid any problems reoccurring without creating undue layers of process or complexity Organization.
  • Establish a high sense of urgency, customer-orientation, and a clear definition of functional excellence in infrastructure operations.
  • At a project and team level, manage and own workload and resource management for the IT book of work.
  • Capability to work with onshore and offshore resources in a way that drives efficiency while meeting objectives Risk Management.
  • Maintain a strong controls environment, carrying about quality, and being responsive to the risks across all aspects of technology.
  • Drive compliance and controls to meet internal and external audit requirements Disaster Recovery and BCP.
  • Contribute as required to the design and execution of the enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan.
  • Plan and execute DR test events to meet internal and external obligations.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Computer Science or related filed experience.
  • 7+ years of experience working in a similar role within the fintech industry
  • Experience with Unix and/or Cloud-based solutions such as AWS or Azure
  • Knowledge of system platforms (i.e. Virtualization, storage, IBM WebSphere MQ, Database technologies, file transfer protocols, encryption, certificates, Proxy, FortiGate firewalls)
  • Meaningful experience, including data center and network operations, storage, telecommunications and 24x7 operations
  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux, Linux services, and Linux networking
  • Knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, Git, Jenkins
  • Prior experience working within a matrixed managed organization, across multiple time zones
  • Solid technical background with an ability to solve issues impacting large scale service architectures and application stacks
  • Demonstrates an ability to apply technology solutions to business problems
  • Ability to work with multi-functional project teams implementing projects of a complex nature.
  • Strong upward communication and capability to communicate effectively
  • Client-oriented individual with a passion to transform the platform
