Job Description
ACCIONA is a global leader in the development and management of sustainable infrastructure solutions, particularly in water and energy sectors. We are seeking an experienced Senior Drafter to join our M&E Secondary Systems Design team within the Transmission Lines division.
As a Senior Drafter specializing in secondary systems design for transmission lines, you will play a key role in preparing electrical engineering designs and documentation for major energy infrastructure projects. Your work will support critical projects across various high-profile Australian energy and transport networks. You will be responsible for producing accurate and detailed CAD drawings for control and protection systems, combined service routes, underground cable designs, and more, while ensuring compliance with industry standards such as Australian Standards, IEC, and ANSI.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft and prepare secondary systems designs for high and medium voltage substations.
• Create detailed layouts for control and protection systems, underground and overhead power distribution, and electrical schematics.
• Collaborate with engineers to incorporate red line mark-ups and implement final designs based on field input.
• Use industry-standard CAD software including AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Revit for drafting and design work.
• Support concept and detailed design submissions for transport and energy infrastructure projects, including secondary systems and cable routing.
• Work with project teams to meet deadlines, ensuring quality and accuracy of deliverables.

Required Skills and Competencies

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical drafting, with a focus on secondary systems for transmission and distribution.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and basic Revit Architecture.
• Extensive experience working on major infrastructure projects within Australian Standards and international standards (IEC, ANSI).
• Proven track record in drafting for substations, overhead conductors, underground cable routes, and combined service routes.
• Relevant qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of secondary design in substations and distribution systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering designs and translate them into detailed CAD drawings.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and maintain high-quality output.
