Our Manufacturing site in Hillerød, Denmark (FDBD), brings together a complete range of expertise, capabilities, and technologies to manufacture advanced biologics.
About the role
The EHS team supporting operation and projects plays a key role at the Hillerød site in developing and sustaining the environmental, safety and occupational health focus as a part of our People First culture. We are expanding the activities at site and are executing numerus projects simultaneous to fulfill our ambitious business strategy. To do this safely, we are strengthening the project engagement with this position.
You will be an integrated part of the FDBD EHS team that handles both projects and operations. The team consists of EHS professionals with a strong team spirit and informal collaboration in our daily work across areas of responsibility as SME’s and area partner.
In this role you will be driving the development of our EHS approaches in projects through re-establishing standard documents and define requirements both for designers, general contractors, and sub-contractors etc.
You will be coordinating across all our Danish projects where external EHS resources will be executing the tasks as EHS coordinators in design and execution of the construction or change projects.
At the same time, you will be working on one of our larger projects as EHS manager, driving a strong EHS performance both to leadership teams and towards the actual execution.
The large expansion projects are often being executed in multi-cultural environment with contractors from all over the world, hence interaction across language and cultural barriers will be part of your daily working environment.

Your primary task will be:

  • Lead people and manage processes in the EHS work across our very large projects, from idea to design and execution through contracted EHS resources, with support from colleagues in the FDBD EHS team.
  • Develop standard descriptions and documents that can form basis for requirements in contracts with general contractors, sub-contractors, and designers/engineers.
  • Act as (E)HS lead and hereby owner representative in selected large projects.
  • Do cross project coordination and align with standards and methodologies implemented and used by FDBD in EHS context.
  • Re-vitalize our current health and safety plan, EHS journal and other general project and construction related documents.
  • Ensure adequate contractor support to the projects for FDBD.

Qualifications

We are looking for a dedicated candidate with a proven track record within Health and Safety. You have the following background and skill sets:

  • Relevant educational background combined with minimum 10 years of experience within EHS projects preferably from the process, ingredient, or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience from international projects and/or safety cultures abroad is an absolute advantage.
  • Experience in navigating in large, complex project organizations, making the necessary relations and connections from top to bottom and being able to push processes forward.
  • Knowledge and experience of Danish WEA (Working Environment Agency) regulations and interpretations.
  • Clear familiarity around construction and commissioning safety including: Risk assessment, work permits, incident reporting and investigation, etc.
  • Familiar with general EHS risks, ranging from ergonomics, chemicals & spillages, machinery safety, slip trip and fall & noise and acoustics.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and fluent in both Danish and English language is a must, as English is the corporate language.

You are able to determine when there is a need for a hard talk and master this in a respectful manner that will be leaving the cooperating partners understanding exactly what you mean but leaving no hard feelings.
You look ahead and can foresee and visualize the next step, where your action may be needed.
