ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

We’re pleased to invite applications for the position of Electrical and Process Control Technician as part of the Group Engineering and Technical team, based in Brompton, SA
Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you’ll design, develop, supervise and optimise electrical and control systems within Detmold’s manufacturing processes.
You’ll ensure efficient, reliable, and safe operations by implementing advanced process control strategies, designing and/or validating electrical safety circuits, troubleshooting electrical problems in machinery, and supporting the installation of new systems.
To improve operational safety, you’ll develop and implement comprehensive machine safety designs.

In terms of specific responsibilities, you will:

  • Design and implement control systems for manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain close communication with the country maintenance operations and engineering teams to ensure the selection of process control components that meet our standards.
  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of control systems.
  • Support the programming and configuration of PLCs, SCADA systems, and other control devices.
  • Develop and maintain process control software and documentation.
  • Design, develop and validate electrical systems and circuits for machinery as required.
  • Ensure all electrical designs meet industry safety standards and regulations, including AS 4024.

Responsibilities:

To be successful in the role, you’ll have:

  • An Australian A-Class Electrical license.
  • Proficiency in machine safety design as per AS 4024 or ISO 13849-1:2023, Safety of Machinery.
  • A strong foundation in PLC programming, SCADA systems, and process control software.
  • Experience in designing electrical systems and circuits.
  • Extensive experience in designing and implementing electrical and control systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound knowledge of industry standards and best practices in electrical and process control.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a cross-functional tea
