Activ8 Solar Energies are actively seeking an experienced Senior Solar PV Design Engineer to join our Commercial team here in Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan. You will be involved in projects across ROI & UK. This is a full time permanent position inclusive of a competitive salary, pension, healthcare and additional benefits.

QUALIFICATIONS/KEY SKILLS

• A 3rd level qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Previous experience of design & implementation of ground mounted Solar PV systems 5MW.
• Be a competent user of AutoCAD, PVSol / PVSyst and Microsoft Office
• LVAC / MV Design experience.
• Experience using Cable Design Software
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Have the ability to multi-task and manage numerous projects simultaneously ensuring the highest of standards.
• Adaptable and solutions driven.
• Flexible to travel

• Produce solar PV designs using PV Case / Rated Power / PVSol / PVsyst / AutoCad
• Complete and submit technical transmittals for a portfolio of projects.
• Responsible for evaluating technical suitability of materials and equipment.
• PV System commissioning support to site Engineers.
• Drafting & maintaining project O&M and as built files.
• Maintain document control system for drawings.
• Develop material schedules and take-offs from drawings.
• Responsible for the full project design life cycle.
• Build strong professional relationships with our installers/sub-contractors.
• Develop construction details to issue to site.
• Co-ordinate and liaise with each department as required.
• Ensure Activ8 Policies and procedures are followed closely.
• Contribute to tender negotiation.
• Maintain a weekly project schedule.
