DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• B.Sc in Electrical Engineering
• 15 years of experience in Electrical Design

• Reports to the Engineering Team Lead
• The Electrical Designer/EIT/Engineer (including Senior positions) is responsible for anything related to electrical design. Specific responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to the following:
• Translate project requirements into engineering specifications.
• Design, specify, test, and validate electrical components/products to ensure they meet project requirements while maintaining compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
• Conduct formal engineering risk assessments when appropriate and make recommendations.
• Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis when necessary.
• Estimate cost and time required to complete various design activities.
• Collaborate with:
• Design Engineering peers and contribute to design reviews.
• Cross-functional teams during special projects.
• Test Engineering to establish test plans and define test protocols.
• Provide engineering support to Sales, QA, Production, Purchasing, Installation, and Service.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation in accordance with industry standards that facilitates purchasing, manufacturing, installation, and use of Conviron equipment. This includes bill of material’s, drawings, schematics, and CAD models.
• Create and maintain department policies, procedures, and work instructions to enhance productivity.
• Address non-conformances and respond to corrective actions in a timely fashion.
• Develop solutions in line with 80/20 principles.
• Product Line Simplification (PLS): standardize, communize, and simplify product designs wherever practicable.
• Material Cost Reduction (MCR): look for or support opportunities to reduce material costs in designs.
• Client Line Simplification (CLS): treat clients fair but different.
• Respect and protect all proprietary information generated at Conviron.
• Professional Engineers may be required to seal drawings.
• Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
