EDUCATION
- A recognized degree in Electrical Engineering
- P. Eng Membership in APEGA
EXPERIENCE
- 10+ years of directly related experience in electrical design of oil and gas processing facilities
- Experience within an EPC and EPCM work environment
- Background in ETAP power system modeling and analysis and plant layout

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Requires ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods using a computer, reading manuals, etc…
- Occasional ability to lift, carry, and put away file boxes weighing up to 25 lbs
- Occasional ability to stand for extended periods for faxing, scanning, and photocopying
- Manual dexterity for data input, paperwork and use of standard office equipment
- Climbing, kneeling, crouching, and crawling when examining equipment
- Must wear company-standard PPE when entering fabrication shops, yards, and project sites. Project site PPE includes CSA approved steel toed boots and long pants
- Walking on uneven ground is to be expected in yards and at project sites

Responsibilities:
- Provides comprehensive engineering and design services by establishing the design criteria and implementing the preparation of specifications, design, computations, and deliverables according to project requirements
- Supervises and provides technical direction to design activities undertaken by engineering, design, and drafting staff working on assigned projects
- Reviews and approves electrical equipment specifications and data sheets, including transformers, switchgears, MCC’s, protection relays, motors, generators, transmission, and distribution equipment.
- Reviews and approves inquiry, evaluation, and purchase requisition of electrical and controls equipment
- Prepares electrical project schedule for engineering, construction, and commissioning activities.
- Produces progress reports and executes change management process
- Ensures consistency and integrity of electrical design throughout the project
- Coordinates project requirements with project team members
- Participates in the development of operation, maintenance, and start-up philosophies
- Reviews design criteria and documents for the detailed design of power and control distribution systems including single line diagrams
- Performs engineering calculations such as demand load analysis, equipment sizing, voltage drops, and lighting design
- Generates electrical construction work package documents
- Generates electrical evaluation quotations and creates purchase order requisitions for major electrical equipment and field installation contracts
- Reviews and mark-ups package/skid drawings
- Supports and assists the electrical project team in design of equipment layouts, area classification, grounding, motor control schematics, cable schedules, electric heat tracing, etc.
- Provides field construction support, commissioning, and start-up of facilities.
- Applies practical knowledge and develops a broad base of skills while contributing to the overall success of Propak’s operations through interaction with a cross-functional team
- Ensures designs and installations comply with codes, standards, and client specifications
- Assesses and updates Piping and Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs) for electrical equipment accuracy
- Designs Motor Control Schematics
- Prepares detailed designs for Electrical and Control Systems
- Prepares and maintains electrical equipment and motor lists
- Specifies Electrical and Control Equipment
- Participates in bid / evaluate / award process
- Reviews and approves vendor drawings and documents
