POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Currently, Tetranex is seeking a full-time Senior Electrical Engineer.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • An Electrical Engineering Degree with a minimum of 5-10 years experience working in an EPC environment.
  • Registered professional engineer with APEGA (Alberta). Registration in other provinces such as BC and Saskatchewan would be an asset but not a requirement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites to scope out projects, meet with clients and construction personnel.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently lead electrical projects and a project team of engineers and designers.
  • Oversee and support the electrical designers in developing other electrical drawings such as cable schedules, motor control schematics, wiring diagrams etc.
  • Manage project schedules, deliverables and budgets
  • Manage change on projects
  • Produce manhour estimates for new jobs
  • Produce electrical MTOs
  • Specify and procure electrical equipment such as MCC’s, VFD’s, UPS Systems, Heat Trace Controllers, Harmonic Filters, Electrical Buildings and inductor motors.
  • Support mechanical engineers in the specification of equipment such as pumps, compressors, process equipment packages.
  • Develop load lists, electrical equipment lists and other calculations to support the sizing and specification of equipment.
  • Perform power system studies such as short circuit, coordination, arc flash, harmonic mitigation and transient motor starting using applicable software such as ETAP and SKM power tools.
  • Develop single line diagrams for medium and low voltage industrial power systems.
  • Develop area classification drawings and details
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to other team members
