Description:
RCT IS SEEKING A SENIOR ELECTRONICS ENGINEER TO JOIN OUR DYNAMIC DESIGN TEAM AT OUR HEAD OFFICE IN KEWDALE.
RCT’s strength is over 50 years of business success, resulting in harnessing 100% of Australia’s mining activities and operations to incorporate RCT technology.
Working in the product development department, you will be part of a multidisciplinary engineering team focused on the development of embedded products. Your responsibilities will include electronic circuit design, prototyping, verification and maintenance thereof. You will have regular interaction with other engineers, firmware developers and product managers. It is therefore vital that you are a team player and have exemplary communication skills.
Your focus will be creating and maintaining flexible multi-purpose products as part of our ongoing product rationalisation process. You will also be required to assist in supporting our existing mature product line, which may involve working with external suppliers and manufacturers.
The successful candidate will be a productive and motivated individual, with strong technical knowledge, and commitment to delivering high-quality products.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s or Masters Degree in Electronics/Mechatronics Engineering.
- 7+ years of experience in electronics design for embedded systems.
- 7+ years of Altium Designer experience (schematic capture and multilayer PCB).
- Mixed-signal (analogue/digital) circuit design experience.
- Knowledge and experience with various communications buses including CAN, UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, and Ethernet.
- Ability to create various engineering documents including design specifications, design notes, as well as test reports.
- Management of the product portfolio throughout the various stages of the product’s lifecycle.
- Ability to do hands-on prototyping, soldering, fault-finding and testing using a variety of test equipment.
- Working closely with other departments to ensure delivery of products on time and within budget.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a team as well as being a self-starter.
DESIRABLE TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Experience in electronics design for automotive equipment
- Python/C programming
- Linux Bash/Shell scripting
- Design for EMC compliance
