Description:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• PhD or Master degree in polymer chemistry

  • Minimum 10 years of experience within emulsion polymer synthesis
  • Insight into the European coatings landscape is a plus

SKILLS

• Strong knowledge of emulsion polymer synthesis

  • Structure-property understanding for a variety of coatings, sealant and adhesive

applications

  • Innovation and creative problem solving skills
  • Management skills – manage other chemists that work on the same or similar project
  • Collaboration within the R&D team
  • Proficiency with analytical and mechanical characterization of emulsion polymers
  • Project planning
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Fluency in English

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop water based acrylic emulsion polymers for coatings, sealants and adhesive

applications

  • Execute experimental development of new emulsion polymers from early concept to

commercialization

  • Give support to product and manufacturing problems
  • Formulation of next generation emulsion polymers
  • Present data at internal and external meetings
  • Collaborate with R&D teams globally
  • Report to the R&D Director
