We are now looking for a Senior Energy Market Analyst to join our Market Analysis team in UPM Energy in Helsinki, Finland.

What you will do
- Prepare and present fundamental power and commodity market analysis and provide valuable input in decision making in hedging and trading activities
- Assume responsibility for UPM’s long-term power market view, including modelling and price forecast in Nordics, Baltics and Central Western Europe
- Depending on your skills and interests, you will also contribute to the model development in other forecast horizons, in day ahead market and mid-term or focus on the analysis of the commodity markets
- Mentor and coach less experienced analysts
Who you are
- You have a university degree in engineering, math, physics or economics
- You have in total minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience from Nordic power, CWE power, energy commodity markets, data handling, modelling or optimisation
- You understand electricity, heat and gas system integration and the essential European and global energy commodity price drivers and trends
- You have analytical mindset and ability to see the big picture and create innovative solutions
- You have curious and forward looking approach
- You have great communication, co-operation and presentation skills
- Experience in fundamental simulation software (Plexos), data management (Python, SQL) and visualisation platforms (PowerBI) is seen as asset
