Description:
As a Senior Engineer-Automation you will be responsible for the architecture and development of automation solutions, including digital, in Wesco’s network. Leading integration and deployment efforts of commercially available fulfillment systems that are designed to interact with automation to enhance material movement and handling within Operations. While supporting creation and communication of the Global Automation Roadmap.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree – Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Robotics Engineering or similar; Masters preferred
- Preferred licenses/certificates: Certified Automation Professional (CAP); Project Management Professional (PMP); Six Sigma
- 5+ years of proven experience in similar position and exposure
- Established background in Robotics or Mechatronic Systems
- CAD experience and understanding of best practices
- Proficiency with eCAD tools
- Hands on experience crafting proof-of-concept models and prototypes
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work well with teams
- Ability to effectively communicate concepts and write technical documents
- Experience evaluating designs, performance, and logistical tradeoffs for hardware systems
- Ability to travel 0-25% of the time

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Information Technology and Operations teams to define, implement, and create guidelines for automation to enhance warehouse operation processes.
- Review and interpret project specifications. Manage budget, schedule, and scope of design. Participate in simulation/emulation.
- Work with the Finance team to evaluate automation systems through cost analysis and capital expenditure requests to justify automation projects.
- Educate and provide training for members of technology deployment and warehouse operations on automation system architecture, usability, and functionality.
- Implement automation projects starting with design through production on time and within budget.
- Design holistic hardware and software solutions for problem solving with fluid requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement and efficiency through automation.
