Description:
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- P.Eng designation is required.
- Strong background in mechanical engineering, energy infrastructure, or wellhead design is highly desirable.
- Experience with pressure equipment, API specifications, and industry regulations is an asset.
- Ability to manage contract engineers and external technical resources effectively.
- Leadership experience, with an interest in building and growing an engineering team over time.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to work in a fast-paced, growing company environment.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external clients.

Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer or Engineering Manager to join our team in Edmonton or Calgary. This position offers a unique opportunity to be the first dedicated engineer at Valwell, establishing the foundation for engineering operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing contract engineers as required and will have the potential to lead and grow an internal engineering department as the company continues to expand.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead engineering projects related to wellheads and energy infrastructure equipment design, maintenance, and optimization.
- Provide technical expertise and oversight in product development, design modifications, and compliance with industry standards.
- Manage external contract engineers as required to support company projects.
- Develop and implement engineering best practices to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, and supply chain, to deliver high-quality solutions to customers.
- Ensure all engineering work meets regulatory and safety requirements, including API and CSA standards.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement to drive business growth.
- For the right candidate, this role has the potential to evolve into leading and growing an internal engineering department.
