Do you want to be at the heart of the green energy transition, enabling offshore wind developments to meet global and national net zero targets? Are you looking to bring your expertise and enthusiasm into play in designing large-scale foundation structures for projects around the world? Do you want to push the boundaries of your profession and develop your excellence in an open, collaborative and empowering culture?
If this resonates with your ambitions, or you are curious to learn more, then this role could be the perfect opportunity. Join our global Wind team and work with us to close the gap to a sustainable future.

We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds and encourage you to contact our recruitment team to discuss any accommodations you need during the application process
Responsibilities:
YOUR NEW ROLE
As our new Senior Engineer within Primary Steel Design, you will deliver load-bearing steelwork packages for Concept Design, Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and Detailed Designs for large offshore wind turbine foundation structures. You will take on responsibility for your own design deliverables applying an analytical approach and structural understanding to create innovative solutions – with the aim of further shaping and enhancing our service delivery.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As part of a multidisciplinary project team, you will work on international projects of varied complexity and scale, taking on diverse tasks and responsibilities such as:
- With a focus on large steel foundation structures for offshore wind turbines, deliver primary steel design work packages in close collaboration with an in-house team of geotechnical, metocean, secondary steel, finite element and load specialists
- Manage works by primary steel project engineers in collaboration with the project management team and other relevant discipline teams to deliver high-quality design and documentation, using the latest state-of-the-art design methodologies that enable successful third-party certification, while maintaining focus on fabrication-friendliness and efficient follow-up during the fabrication and installation phases
- Manage the entire load-structural workflow, ranging from definition of the relevant load simulations to the integrated aero-hydrodynamic simulations using in-house computation tools, resulting in derivation of the final design loads subsequently used for optimized foundation design
- Prepare and present design methods, findings and results at client- and certifying agent meetings during both the design and certification phases
- Generally, contribute to Ramboll’s technical development in the field of primary steel design
From the moment you start at Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development so that you can continue to grow with the company. Whilst we look forward to supporting your continued learning and development, for this role we have identified some qualifications, skills, and capabilities that will set you up for success.
- Master’s degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Wind Engineering, preferably with focus on design of offshore steel structures or similar areas of study
- Track record and experience within offshore wind, e.g., turbine foundation design, structural statics / dynamics, hydrodynamics, wind loading including aeroelastic load simulations and offshore geotechnical design
- Strong drive to excel in the Primary Structures discipline, reflected in design works and deliverables as well as engagement and collaboration with others
- Experienced in coordination with other disciplines and stakeholders both in person and virtually, with the ability to effectively plan and prioritize multiple engineering tasks, while making independent decisions that promote and advance company goals and objectives
- High integrity and team spirit, proactively engaging with others and offering support when require
