Description:
We are seeking an experienced Engineer to join our team, to lead in software development, implementation support and test activities for the Openlink (Findur) product.
Openlink is one of the Bank’s critical systems. It is the Bank’s core trading and risk management system holding information for both BOE and EEA balance sheets with full front, middle to back office settlements and accounting. It comprises of deal entry, credit and risk checking and settlements, with many interfaces to other systems used within the Bank
We are a busy high performing team in the Financial Systems Solutions (FSS) Domain which falls within the Applications & Product Engineering Division in Technology. We are currently involved in high priority change projects and are currently drafting a business/technology change roadmap for future years which means there is always work to be done, making this an exciting team to be part of.
The jobholder will report to the Openlink Platform Manager and work within a team of software engineers with supervisory responsibility for junior members.
The jobholder will be expected to:
Use your .NET development expertise to produce high quality software components, conforming to Bank guidelines and standards. You will lead on the testing/implementation of these components and provide post implementation support.
Play an active part in the Technical Openlink Development Team, leading on technical discussions, sharing knowledge and assisting/coaching other team members, review other team members work, lead on the continuous improvement of development processes, methods and standards.
Work with security colleagues to develop and maintain secure systems that align with security standards.
Display the core Bank behaviours in your daily work, to act inclusively, drive growth and deliver outcomes.
The key areas of responsibility will be:
Deliver secure software components; providing input into the estimation and planning process; refining requirements together with business users and/or technical analysts; designing and developing software using agreed methodologies, processes and standards; improving development by the use of appropriate tools; taking part in all stages of the test cycle; managing and rectifying software issues; managing your own code within test environments and deploying software.
Provide post implementation support; delivering agreed change requests and rectifying errors. Become part of the team’s daily support rota covering the live activity for which the team is responsible. There is a requirement for a certain amount of evening and weekend work.
Represent the team in a Technical Lead capacity on multiple project work-streams and act independently, make informed decisions, apply analytical judgement and being an active member of the project team.
Responsibilities:
This role offers a salary of circa £59,905 - £69,120. In addition, we also offer a comprehensive benefits package as detailed below:
