We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Water Resources Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing innovative solutions to manage water resources effectively across various projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of municipal engineering projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of a University degree in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental or Chemical Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Must be a licensed Engineer within the province of Ontario
  • 15 years of experience in water resources consulting projects.
  • Proficiency in relevant software, including HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, EPANET, and AutoCAD.
  • Experience and strong technical background in hydrology, hydraulics, stormwater management, and water quality are required.
  • Superior English communication skills both oral and written
  • Possess a strong ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with staff and clients.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a collaborative, team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide senior technical expertise for delivery of water resource management projects.
  • Provide hydrological and hydraulic modelling and develop water resource management plans and designs for stormwater management and drainage systems.
  • Conduct water, flood and erosion hazards assessments. Perform floodplain mapping and analysis to mitigate risks and develop strategies.
  • Design and implement stormwater management systems to support master planning of linear infrastructure in the municipal areas.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, design drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to develop comprehensive water resource management strategies.
  • Coordinate with government regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Mentor and coach project teams including supervision of junior engineers, planners, technologists, and designers.
  • Participate in Business Development initiatives, proposal writing and client interacting.
  • Other duties as assigned
