Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Manager who will be providing technical coaching and advisory for multiple technical teams across the business. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on developer who can manage a team of engineers, drive technical excellence, and deliver high-quality software solutions.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing thoughtful feedback, nurtures an inclusive environment, champions engineering fundamentals, and mentors team members to grow
  • Collaborating with other managers across the team to continuously improve the engineering process and technical capabilities
  • Continuously building technical knowledge and improves the ability to deliver quality solutions
  • Acting as a ‘hands-on’ technical contributor, leading from the front by setting an example of behaviours and practices for team members while carrying out development activities
  • Working with architectural, business, and other engineering managers to shape, design, and engineer solutions
  • Ensuring successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders
  • Being accountable for all code quality, security, and compliance
  • Building a diverse team of engineers who are both exceptionally talented and fit the culture of the business

Qualifications

Who we’re looking for:

  • Solid career experience as a software engineer, with expert level knowledge of and experience in Java and modern frameworks (Spring Boot, Quarkus etc)
  • Extensive experience in building microservices and APIs (Application Programming Interfaces)
  • Good knowledge of and experience in databases (both relational and NoSQL)
  • Extensive experience shipping or running production systems and/or software, including complex production systems that run on public cloud
  • A history of having managed software engineering teams or technical lead experience.
  • Clear design and coding skills with a bias for architecture at scale, grounded in engineering fundamentals
  • Regular interaction with customers, both internal and external, and at all levels within an organization
  • Understanding of cloud computing and experience working with cloud architecture
