Description:

Matillion is The Data Productivity Cloud.
We are on a mission to power the data productivity of our customers and the world, by helping teams get data business ready, faster. Our technology allows customers to load, transform, sync and orchestrate their data.
We are looking for passionate, high-integrity individuals to help us scale up our growing business. Together, we can make a dent in the universe bigger than ourselves.
We are now looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to join our global Engineering team!

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Engineering Manager will lead key development initiatives while building and supporting cross-functional, multi-disciplinary squads. In this role, you will independently coordinate complex, multi-domain projects and inspire teams to operate as a high-performing, outcome-driven R&D unit. A core focus will be fostering a customer-obsessed mindset, ensuring that the team delivers solutions that prioritise customer needs while driving innovation and excellence.
You will have a significant software development background, ideally full stack with a front end weighting, but will have responsibility for the smooth running of a team and focus on the coaching and development of its members. This is a people-first role, and while the overall success of a given initiative lies with this role, it will be achieved through the leadership of people and not hands-on execution.
We value in-person collaboration here at Matillion, therefore this role follows our hybrid work structure where employees work 2 days a week in our Manchester office. Our core day is Wednesday, and the second day will be determined together. The rest of the week you are welcome to work from the office, or remotely if you’d prefer.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • You will manage a cross-functional team, providing people leadership and supporting them to achieve key outcomes.
  • You will empower your team by establishing efficient processes for execution and operations.
  • Managing team performance, setting goals, and guiding the team to deliver within timelines and standards is a key part of this role.
  • You will support your team’s growth through coaching, development, and real-time feedback.
  • You will collaborate with product teams on strategy, roadmap, and decision-making to achieve meaningful outcomes
