Grade 8 SCP 12-22 FTE £27,711 to £32,654 Pro rata (Term time plus 2 weeks - 41 weeks) £25,508 - £30,058

TEACHING AND LEARNING

• Be able to instruct small groups of students on key machines to support their learning
• Liaise with teaching staff on a regular basis and where necessary, support the delivery of the curriculum in our flexible learning bases;
• To be aware of effective teaching practices to support the delivery of the curriculum;
• To have an overview of engineering schemes of work and suggest ways in which the resources can support learning and enrichment activities within these programmes.

JOB PURPOSE

The WMG Academy Trust Board is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and able individual to join our Solihull Academy. The successful applicant will be professional, adaptable and dedicated to delivering high quality engineering support. Applications are particularly welcome from current engineering technicians who want to work in an environment with world-class facilities, but more importantly from those who want to develop their career in a learner-facing, ‘hands-on’ environment.

JOB PURPOSE

To provide general and practical support to staff and students within the Engineering department, including preparation and maintenance of resources and equipment, instructing, leading and supporting practical delivery of lessons within the engineering workshop in accordance with strict health and safety guidance procedures as well as KCSIE Regulations. The Solihull Academy is located adjacent to Chelmsley Wood Shopping Centre in North Solihull and boasts over £2 million of specialist equipment and ICT. • To ensure the timely delivery of the practical engineering curriculum by way of the safe provision and removal of relevant engineering materials and apparatus;
• To ensure the ethos of the WMG Academy and those of the sponsors are evident in every aspect of the discharge of the duties of the post;
• Model the highest professional standards to staff and learners in all aspects of the role, maintaining a visible presence around the academy and leading by example;
• Be committed to working in a forward-thinking, creative organisation, being prepared to support lead teachers in engineering with the delivery of lessons and learning experiences including:-
