Ideal Key Skills & Experience:

  • At least 5 years of relevant demonstrable experience in risk management, with practical application in complex operational and project environments.
  • Tertiary qualifications in commerce or business are desirable.
  • Sound general commercial and operational understanding, including finance, procurement, third-party management, and technology.
  • Excellent verbal and written presentation skills, capable of facilitating workshop-style discussions and articulating detailed information for senior stakeholders.
  • Experience in the implementation and administration of enterprise risk systems.
  • Strong experience with enterprise risk frameworks and risk appetite models, with the ability to see trends and think strategically across the enterprise.

Key Accountabilities Include:

  • Risk Assessment and Recommendations: Provide expert opinions and recommendations on risks related to V/Line’s Corporate Plan, strategies, key operations, and project pipelines, ensuring effective control environments.
  • Reporting: Prepare clear, engaging, and commercially focused reports on V/Line’s Risk, Compliance, and Control Environment for senior leaders, the Executive Leadership Team, the Audit and Risk Committee, and external stakeholders including the Department of Transport and Planning.
  • Control Validation: Validate the effectiveness of controls and actions taken by Line Management, offering insights on their quality and suitability.
  • Framework and Policy Management: Continuously review and update V/Line’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework, policies, processes, and tools, ensuring alignment with Victorian Government and Industry Standards.
  • Risk Facilitation: Facilitate the identification, assessment, and management of strategic, operational, and project risks in collaboration with subject matter experts and key stakeholders.
  • Collaboration and Integration: Work collaboratively with the Head of Assurance to integrate audit recommendations into V/Line’s Enterprise Risk Profile and advise on material risks and controls for the forward Internal Audit Program

Responsibilities:

Are you ready to make a significant impact at V/Line? As a key member of our Enterprise Risk and Internal Audit Function, the Senior Enterprise Risk Business Partner plays a crucial role in supporting our Project, Operational, and Enabling Groups with expert enterprise risk management advice and support.
In this role, you will be instrumental in fostering a positive risk culture and facilitating effective risk management activities. You will collaborate closely with the Head of Risk to ensure our Enterprise Risk Management Frameworks, processes, and tools are not only fit for purpose but also aligned with Government and Industry Standards.
