Who we are
The Chief Data Office (CDO) is an international and fast-moving department within ING, which provides the platform for industry leading data management for the bank. The Data Quality team is at the heart bit of data management within CDO, with the mission to enable ING’s Countries and Global Support Functions to apply and sustain a high degree level of Data Quality across the bank.
As a member of the Global Data Quality team and CDO organization, you will contribute greatly to fulfill our data and data quality promises.
The Mission
With an increased appetite for consuming data and regulatory requirements to demonstrate data quality coverage, we need to maintain a high standard in Data Quality. Global Data Quality function is responsible for operationalizing ING Data Quality strategy, translating into products that will be executed globally in order to ensure we maintain those high standards for ING data overall.
As a Data Quality Expert in the Global Data Quality team, you will be instrumental in developing the Global Data Quality product that is key in delivering our promises of “ensuring data quality” for ING across the Globe.

Your day to day

Even if you’ll start your day from the comfort of your home or drink your morning coffee in our office’s garden, your day will be quite similar when comes to tasks. Here are your daily responsibilities:

  • Design, implement and optimize data quality rules and checks (Using IBM and Oracle tools or other Data Quality tools adopted by ING);
  • Lead and execute data testing efforts;
  • Roll-out of the DQ Framework in all ING domains/countries and offer pre and post implementation support;
  • Identify opportunities and provide solutions for improvements;
  • Manage communication with the stakeholders and act as a contact person for the team for your specific initiative that you will be allocated to;
  • Although you will be part of a Hub location team, you will collaborate closely with international teams from different cultures consisting of Product Leads, Chapter Leads, Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, Engineers and Data Quality Officers;

What you will bring to the team

Experience:

  • Advanced to solid SQL knowledge to be able to write and optimize complex SQL scripts;
  • Technical background on data management or another technical area;
  • With Agile – Scrum methodology;
  • In Banking industry is considered a plus;

Skills:

  • You are comfortable working in an international context, within virtual teams and can interact easily with international stakeholders;
  • Ability to understand the business context in which the data solutions are being developed and designed, in order to ensure alignment with the data management and IT strategy;
  • Highly analytical with the ability to swiftly identify core issues;
  • Possess organizational sensitivity, collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholders;
  • Enthusiastic, dedicated to aiding others’ success and staying proactive;
  • Set an example by giving and acting upon feedback, fostering continuous improvement;
  • Maintain a strong network within the bank and understand the culture and way of working;
  • Customer-focused, capable of building trust with stakeholders;
  • Excellent communication skills, adept at conveying messages across organizational levels.

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge or previous experience delivering solutions in financial industry;
  • Knowledge or previous experience related to Data Quality Tooling or ETL tooling (e.g. IBM Information Analyzer, IBM Data Stage and Quality Stage, Oracle Data Quality, Informatica Data Quality, etc.).

Foreign languages: English (advanced).
Education: Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in an IT related field or Economics.
