JOB DESCRIPTION
- Provide information on daily activities related to customer interactions.
- Participate in the negotiation of changes, modifications, and claims with clients.
- Ensure client agreements are closed satisfactorily and in line with predefined procedures.
- Assist in preparing commercial status reports.
- Generate TEU volumes across the company’s terminals in accordance with set targets.
- Meet and exceed agreed targets and KPIs.
- Promote one’s position within the broader business, maintaining knowledge of colleagues’ accounts to provide guidance and backup when needed.
- Lead commercial projects to deliver customized solutions to customers, ensuring appropriate internal resources are allocated.
- Identify and capitalize on profitable business opportunities, enhancing the company’s supply chain offerings, including subsidiary businesses.
- Follow up on debtors.
- Collaborate with the General Manager on customer volume growth and liaise with respective departments.
- Ensure effective communication between customers, stakeholders, and operational teams, particularly in berth planning and service delivery.
- Act as the primary liaison for customer claims and needs.
- Enhance market intelligence by staying informed about competitor activities, market drivers, and external business influences.
- Promote quality, health and safety, and environmental standards:Enforce health, safety, and security protocols to protect employees and the public.Comply with applicable laws and industry standards, striving for continuous improvement in HSSE management practices.Provide strong commitment and leadership in health, safety, security, and environmental objectives.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Development.
WORK EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Commercial Management.
- Strong knowledge of UAE markets, including agents, shipping lines, and NVOCC.
- Familiarity with local port markets and business culture.
- Proficiency in analytical and reporting skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
