Description:

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to lead on the delivery of family based interventions and systemic psychotherapy within Cardiff and Vale’s Children and Young People’s Eating Disorders Team. The successful candidate will be working within a Psychology-led multi-disciplinary team consisting of Clinical Psychologists and Psychological therapists, Nurses, Medics (Psychiatry and Paediatric) and a Dietitian; as well as two Specialist Eating Disorder transitions clinicians embedded within the team. The team has developed rapidly over the past four years and has clear processes for service delivery and risk management, with strong links to the wider Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health Service (including core interventions, SPOA, Crisis and CITT amongst others). The successful candidate will therefore have access to peer support from other Family Therapists working across the service.
The role of a Senior Family Therapist is highly valued and respected within the team in order to ensure fidelity and adherence to the main evidence based intervention for children and adolescents with an Eating Disorder through a range of activities including assessments, delivering specialist therapeutic interventions, contribution to formulation, and the delivery of care through consultation. MDT working is embedded throughout each stage of a young person’s journey through the service. As a systemic psychotherapist/family therapist, you will have experience and knowledge in carrying a service user caseload, including assessing service users with complex needs, supporting families with care planning and designing and delivering specialist interventions within children and young people’s Eating Disorder services.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
