Requirements:
Fifteen or more (15+) years’ experience as an Engineering Technician providing technical support in the design, development production and testing of shipboard systemsTen (10) years full-time hands-on experience in installation, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or testing of any one major shipboard system/equipment
Desired Skills:
- Experience with Subsurface Carry On equipment
- Experience with TEMPALT data packages
- Experience with Subsurface ship check protocols and processes
Description:
The Engineering Technician will work with shipboard stakeholders to conduct installations, compile TEMPALT packages, conduct System Operational Verification Testing (SOVT), provide onsite and remote onboard technical troubleshooting support to designated subsurface platforms.
- Performs a variety of complex technical functions in support of carry on program capabilities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly of electronic systems. Establishes procedures for the maintenance of systems, laboratory equipment and facilities
- Supports all efforts required to develop and compile a fully compliant and approved TEMPALT package including coordination of MOA/MOUs and compiling data packages
- Performs on-site installation, troubleshooting, and testing of carry on products and equipment
- Provides technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment
- Assists in training to include junior level electronics technicians, and support staff to perform general fabrication, assembly, configuration, test and evaluation, and documentation tasks
- Establishes procedures for the maintenance of laboratory facilities and equipment including cable diagrams, equipment schematics, and configurations to support various carry on system arrangements, and trains personnel to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment
- Provides technical distance and on-site support to deployed U.S. NAVY units
