About the role
Are you a technical Senior Analyst with a passion for energy markets and a knack for turning complex data into actionable insights? Join our dynamic team and lead the charge in delivering the month-end close process and performance reporting for our Electricity Financial Instruments portfolios. You’ll play a key role in driving commercial strategic business decisions through your financial expertise while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
What you’ll be doing
- Deliver the month-end accounting close for electricity financial instruments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with AGL accounting standards.
- Drive insightful financial performance analysis, providing key stakeholders with detailed reports and clear explanations of business drivers.
- Maintain robust financial governance by overseeing balance sheet reconciliations and managing external audits and regulatory interactions.
- Support Trading & Origination projects with comprehensive commercial analysis and contribute to strategic decision-making.
- Promote and implement continuous improvements in financial reporting systems, processes, and derivative accounting.
About you
What you’ll bring to the table
- CA/CPA/ACA/MBA qualified with proven experience in accounting and financial instruments, ideally within the energy or financial markets sector.
- Expertise in month-end close, performance reporting, and working with large, complex data sets.
- Proficiency in SAP and advanced skills in MS Office, particularly Excel for financial modelling and analysis.
- Strong communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate across departments and influence decision-making at senior levels.
- Proactive and solutions-oriented, with a passion for continuous improvement and developing high-performing teams.
