Join the Close Brothers Financial Planning and Analysis Team where you support support the Group FP&A Manager and team in the preparation of financial information including running month end processes such as ‘Flash’ reporting and board reports, preparing detailed pieces of analysis (monthly and ad-hoc) and supporting the delivery of budget / forecasts and ICAAP.
The successful candidate will produce presentations and analyse predominately for ExCo, to help them make informed decisions working closely with divisional Finance teams and will play a key part in the success of Group FP&A deliverables.
IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE/ARE:
- Solid relevant accounting experience and technical knowledge
- experience in a Financial service business

Responsibilities:
Monthly Business Performance & Reporting
- Provide active support to the Graduate trainee who will carry out the bulk of the month-end BAU processes
- Act as first line reviewer for all work that the Graduate analyst produces
- Month-end ‘Flash’ process detailing the expected month-end close position to the Group ExCo
- Monthly Finance report outlining key financial performance metrics for delivery to the ExCo
- Provide timely commentary and variance analysis to support understanding of financial performance against budgets, forecasts and prior year
- Work closely with the divisional FP&A teams to understand performance
- Work with Investor Relations to provide them with all information required to support our quarterly Results Announcements
Financial Planning, Budgeting and ICAAP
- Support the Group FP&A Manager in running the annual budget process including consolidation of results, challenging submissions and putting together presentations which draw out key messages
- Work on quarterly forecasts and aid the communication of results to senior stakeholders
- Support the Group FP&A Manager in running the annual ICAAP process including interpretation and presentation of submissions
Analysis
- Support the FP&A Manager with ad-hoc analysis on topical issues including coordinating any data gathering from the business units
- Refine and improve existing processes and challenge outputs to create relevant and value-adding analysis
- Gain an understanding of each of the businesses within the Group and demonstrate an understanding when pulling together analysis
