ABOUT US
The UCL Division of Psychiatry is within the Faculty of Brain Sciences and a centre of excellence in Mental Health research. Our aim is to contribute to the improvement of mental health through research and education. We address clinical problems in order to achieve benefits for patients and public health, using insights from basic science. We also deliver innovative teaching, relevant to clinical practice, which is informed by our research.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated, finance-loving professional to join our team. You will be supporting grant and finance administration already and looking to step up into a more complex role.
You will be educated to degree standard, or equivalent, or having acquired substantial relevant experience.
You will have a good understanding and experience of grant application processes (both pre and post award) and the proven ability to support the preparation and delivery of successful research funding applications using online financial/costing systems (MyFinance/Worktribe).
You will support varied financial operations so the ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining close attention to detail and accuracy is essential.

Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Finance and Research Administrator is a key role within the Division’s professional services department with responsibility for delivering an efficient and effective research administration service and ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day finance support. The post is available to start immediately and is open ended.
The postholder will have responsibility for supporting academics to cost and prepare applications for research funding; ensuring that the financial return for the Division is maximised; advising academics on internal and external funding opportunities and providing post-Award management of grants. The postholder will also support the Division’s processes for consultancy funding as well as for annual budget proposals and forecasts.
The role holder will work closely with the Operations Manager and the HR Manager and take responsibility for the line management of the Operations Assistant.
