PERSON SPECIFICATION: QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Highly numerate individual with a logical mind and appreciation for accuracy
  • Expertise in financial modelling, strategic analysis, and large data set management, with a proven track record of guiding strategic business decisions
  • Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA or ACCA) with 7-10 PQE
  • Independent, strategic thinker with a proactive approach, excellent problem-solving skills, and a positive attitude towards challenges. Ability to own and manage a range of tasks and projects through to completion
  • Outstanding interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills with a proven ability to engage across functions
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills required
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a high performing team
  • Proven track record of management, development and coaching of a small team
  • Essential: Previous experience in a commercially-oriented FP&A/FBP role within asset management, partnering an ExCo member
  • Desired: proficiency in analytics tools (such as Power BI) and a commitment to leveraging technology for finance function optimization

Responsibilities:

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a talented Senior Manager to join Financial Planning and Analysis & Finance Business Partnering function as the Senior Business Partner to the Wealth Planning business. This role will provide finance business partnering, high quality and accurate management information, and financial analysis and insights to the Wealth Planning (WP) ExCo member, WP senior management team, alongside ongoing CBAM monthly deliverables, leading forecasting & budgeting for the WP business and other ad hoc requirements.
The role offers the opportunity to develop and enhance existing skills whilst leading and developing the team in support of a business which is achieving significant growth within the UK wealth management market. The role will also support the Head of FP&A.
We entrust our Business Partners to be proactive and honest, to build relationships and influence, to understand, challenge, and hold a mirror to the business, and to translate the numbers into a business story.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partnering with the Wealth Planning business, in particular the Head of Wealth Planning
  • Managing key stakeholder relationships within the Wealth Planning leadership team,, Finance and the wider business
  • Supporting the Head of FP&A, and the Finance function overall
  • Providing accurate, timely and relevant, business analysis, insights and MI to support the business in tracking, forecasting and evaluating results, trends and initiatives.
  • Developing and providing monthly and quarterly reporting, through compilation of clear and accurate MI of a consistently high quality that analyses funds under management, asset flows, revenue and expenses drivers
  • Developing and challenging the annual plan and rolling forecasts with the business. Collaborate closely with the business to ensure cohesive CBAM strategy and business alignment
  • Developing financial models to asses of potential acquisitions, with subsequent oversight and reporting of successful acquisitions thereafter
  • Continuous improvement of BAU processes pertaining to Finance deliverables. Support the development and enhancement of Finance’s output, aiming to increase automation, improve efficiency and strengthen controls
  • Management, development and coaching of 2 team members fostering an environment of continuous improvement in business analysis and finance processes
  • Responding to ad-hoc queries and projects and providing support to the business heads, senior management, CFO and FP&A team

REGULATORY RESPONSIBILITIES (COMPLIANCE/T&C)

  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the regulatory framework relevant to the role, whilst practising effective risk management taking account of outcomes for clients
