JOB DESCRIPTION
Senior Finance Manager
Full time hours
Bristol /Hybrid working
Responsibilities:
- Deliver business performance insight by understanding the business strategy and its translation into financial impacts. Guide decision-making processes through provision of holistic contextual information.
- Analyse the Defence product portfolio, operations and functions, providing depth and breadth of financial performance insight through multiple lenses, examining historical trends, current performance and future progression, determining business actions to achieve them.
- Work with the Financial Controller - Defence and sub-business FDs to analyse financial variances with reference to operational drivers in order to deliver insight and provide a forward-looking view and management options
- Be accountable for the planning, budgeting, actuals and forecasting processes within the Sector for Headcount, Operating Costs and Order Intake, and drive continuous improvement to increase the effectiveness of the performance management processes.
- Work closely with the VP Finance Engineering Procurement & IT to forecast, report and analyse operating costs within the Division, seeking opportunities to steer business performance and identify cost efficiencies.
- Provide support and expertise to the Sector HFM/VBM super user, providing cover when necessary, utilising experience to provide guidance and insight.
- Ad hoc support to other finance areas as necessary.
- Provide insight relating to business performance through data mining and focussed analysis, working with the sub-business FDs to analyse financial performance trends and variances, examining underlying operational drivers and assessing opportunities and hazards to provide a forward-looking view and steering actions

- Prior experience in working in FP&A teams.
- Industry related experience with a Finance Function.
