Description:

The Microsoft Senior Finance Manager, Mexico Enterprise is part of the Americas Enterprise Finance team. The role reports to the Microsoft Mexico Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and partners closely with Microsoft’s Mexico Country Manager, the Enterprise Commercial and Public Sector sales teams.
This role develops, interprets, and implements financial concepts for financial planning, business insights and accountability, as well as performs technical analysis to determine present and future financial performance and to effectively allocate resources to optimize Return on Investment (ROI) for shareholder return. Additionally, it gathers, analyzes, prepares and summarizes recommendations for financial plans, acquisition activity, trended future requirements and operating forecasts. You will partner with business and commercial leaders to generate solutions to achieve objectives and drive shareholder return. Main responsibilities include providing overall finance compliance support, advising on sales deal execution, proactively managing risk, and establishing a committed culture of compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
  • OR Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • Business level fluency to read, write and speak English and Spanish.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 8+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or Finance work experience
  • OR Masters Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year(s) experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles.
  • 1+ year(s) work experience in matrix-based organization.
  • 1+ year(s) work experience in the technology or software industry.

Responsibilities:

Partnership

  • Shares business insights and advances solutions and action plans to drive business and commercial leader goals and short-term accountabilities. Provides credible insights into industry benchmarks and consumer trends, performance improvements, and growth. Facilitates to resolve complex issues and manages and executes processes through engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Applies understanding of the broader Microsoft context to offer solutions to ensure organizational objectives are met. Develops and manages strategies to proactivelyproactively mitigate, or reactively address, potential adverse effects of macroeconomic and/or geopolitical risks. Articulates a comprehensive view of financial results and approaches leaders can implement based on a deep understanding of business partner and counterpart work context and situation. Considers other views and alternative solutions when formulating recommendations for financial plans and forecasts.
  • Understands the interconnections between data, information, and results and translates this into forward-looking narratives and forecasts. Provides clarity and alignment with leaders. Implements creative ways to show patterns and draw conclusions to help drive decisions and clearly communicate findings. Generates actionable plans based on complex results, ambiguous findings, and multi-year time horizons. Articulates understanding and awareness of business partner situations.
  • Conceptualizes and designs new approaches to how financial data is collected and evaluated to impact future outcomes and decisions.
  • Drives improvements in data management through automation. Applies understanding of advanced technology to accomplish business goals and to provide greater depth of analysis.

Prioritize

  • Develops and leverages relationships with customers and partners to bolster sales and to understand and manage business risk. Collects customer feedback data and applies data analysis techniques to improve customer experience. Builds relationships with customers at higher levels. Designs and negotiates solutions to complex financial issues with customers. Engages with customers and partners on their wider relationships with Microsoft. Serves as an advocate for Microsoft and its customers, understanding customers’ businesses to plan growth. Manages the balance between customer centricity, enablement of sales, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Works directly with business partners to translate top-down targets to an accountable budget for each group. Completes and reviews analysis, modeling, and research to support preliminary and adjusted forecast cycles. Partners and solicits insight from business and commercial stakeholders.
  • Delivers results through tracking performance, reporting accuracy, and partnering with business leaders to ensure execution of plans and accountability for results. Manages the rhythm of the business for area of responsibility, including monthly close, recurring business review preparation, and budgeting. Generates relevant and actionable insights to drive the business forward.
  • Performs and reviews analysis of present and future financial performance, financial plans (e.g., expected returns, resource allocation, pricing, investment opportunities), and economic transactions (e.g., customer deals, commercial partnerships, acquisitions). Prepares and summarizes recommendations.

Protect

  • Drives the right tone from executive leadership and ensures strict adherence and understanding of Microsoft policies on risk and compliance. Influences leadership to ensure compliance is a top priority and modeled throughout the organization.
  • Drives a compliant culture through actions and decisions to instill trust. Advocates, educates, and promotes best practices and new developments. Encourages asking questions and identifying risks to compliance.
