Description:

The Senior Finance Manager will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff across the patch on Mental Health services.
The postholder will provide financial support and leadership to the Mental Health senior management team, provide financial leadership for the Mental Health Provider Collaborative initiative,
support the wider delegation of Direct Commissioning to ICBs and work with other teams within NHS England as required.
The postholder must be a qualified accountant and full CCAB or CIMA member. They should be able to demonstrate experience of working at a senior level in large complex organisations, and have an understanding of NHS finance.
The post holder will lead the provision of an efficient, effective and high quality professional and well co-ordinated finance support service capable of meeting all statutory, regulatory and NHS requirements ensuring alignment with the activity of the organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all necessary business returns, including planning and workforce returns.
  • Develop and implement systems to ensure information is properly managed and best practice is shared across the team, Directorate and the wider NHS organisations as appropriate.
  • Support ongoing training and development across the Department or Directorate.
  • Oversight and management of all aspects of the Department or Directorate Mental Health budgets.

    Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
    The post holder will be a key member of the wider Direct Commissioning Finance team.
