Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Finance Manager with the preparation of submissions, reports, briefing materials, and correspondence on budget and financial issues such as the Health Ombudsman’s annual budget submission.
  • Coordinate and conduct the financial activities, systems, and record keeping of the OHO including monthly business reports, journals, general ledger reconciliations and maintenance, fixed assets, accounts receivable, and accounts payable while ensuring ledger integrity.
  • Assist the Finance Manager with the Annual Financial Statements and external audits with the Queensland Audit Office.
  • Prepare and submit monthly Payroll Tax returns, quarterly Long Service Leave and Annual Leave returns, quarterly Business Activity Statements and Annual Fringe Benefits Tax return.
  • Prepare and submit Tridata reporting (both actual and budget submissions) and assist with the preparation of State Budget Papers.
  • Prepare and maintain up to date policies and procedure manuals, such as the Financial Management Practice Manual and Financial delegations and coordinate training on finance policies as required.
  • Assist with the management of procurement and purchasing activities in accordance with business needs and Queensland Government requirements.
  • Assist with building lease and facilities maintenance matters.
