Description:

As the Senior Finance Officer you will: - Support the reporting deliverables which includes extracting data from multiple sources, importing and merging data into databases, creating dashboards and report templates, producing reports, analysing performance results, developing, and delivering key findings.- Undertake advanced analysis of data utilising various applications and methods to enable integrated data reporting for the Program.- Develop analysis and reports from human resource, financial and operational data to provide business-critical information to management and support strategic and operational decision-making.- Provide high-level support and advice to a range of stakeholders through a sound understanding of business requirements and proactive provision of financial services to support business priorities.- Operate within an environment that has competing demands by effectively managing time and prioritizing tasks during periods of intense activity.- Assist with the timely and accurate preparation of relevant reporting to Queensland Treasury and other external stakeholders.- Prepare reports and correspondence and initiate action associated with financial, administrative, and other matters as required by management.- Support the delivery of efficient, effective, and economical transactional processing services (including accounts payable and accounts receivable) both delivered from within and external to the department.- Develop and maintain productive working relationships and partnerships across a range of stakeholder groups.- Contribute to routine finance processes, such as the management of corporate cards, management of the finance mailbox, reply to or distribute email requests and source documents.- Contribute to ensuring accounting activities comply with all relevant legislation, policies, and practices: including tax requirements for GST, FBT and payroll tax- Assist with the identification of departmental training needs in financial operations and contribute to the development and implementation of training programs to meet these needs and ensure consistent, high-quality practices across the department.- Contribute to the achievement of continuous improvement by encouraging an environment where high quality work is achieved and is supported by the development and adherence to quality systems.
