The role involves statutory financial reporting (ASIC) and regulatory reporting (APRA, ASIC, ABS). Specifically, the role will be providing financial control support, managing the general ledger, financial reporting, and financial analysis. A key focus is on process improvement, integration, and change.
Additionally, the role requires working across functional business teams to influence change strategies and drive business improvements. Contributing to the Planning and Performance Finance Team is essential to meet both team and wider AMP corporate objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Relevant accounting, business, finance or economics degree.
  • Professional accounting qualification - CA / CPA
  • Ideally at least 5 years relevant experience, preferably in the financial services industry, superannuation fund or similar role.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting standards and statutory / regulatory reporting requirements relevant to the role.
  • Demonstrated experience in the preparation or audit of superannuation fund and statutory and regulatory financial reports.
  • Highly developed report writing – be able to succinctly communicate issues.Extensive experience in the use of financial systems, databases, internet applications, Excel and Word.

  • We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, who can clearly explain complex financial issues. Attention to detail, excellent analytical and problem-solving proficiencies and the ability to build effective business relationships are essential. The candidate should be well-organised, able to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
    Additionally, the ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of finance systems, particularly Excel, Access, and Word. They should be self-motivated, proactive, and eager to take on new challenges, with a focus on continuous improvement. A sense of energy, ownership, and personal commitment to their work is crucial.
