Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
At Metlifecare we create homes and communities. Places of belonging, villages humming with life. With a range of unique villages nationwide (and more in development), we are a well-known and trusted operator, and we take our role seriously.
As we move into FY25 and our continued growth journey, we are seeking a Senior Financial Accountant, with responsibility for the group’s financial reporting, accurate calculation of tax requirements and reporting of resident liabilities. This position reports to and supports the Financial Reporting Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Preparation of supporting workpapers/reconciliations for the Group financial statements
- Liaise with external auditors and respond to queries in timely manner.
- Prepare statutory cashflow statements.
- Prepare resident loan statements.
- Prepare all regulatory reporting and tax compliance returns (GST, RWT, FBT, AIL, Income tax)
- Calculate and transact the Group’s deferred tax position and overhead GST rates.
- Prepare DMF and NMF calculations as required.
- Prepare Settlement and Refund journals in accordance with ORA contracts.
- Calculate interest `for resident refunds.
- Prepare appropriate adjustments for referrals, DMF and sales commissions in line with IFRS.
- Review appropriate group Annual returns and Covenant compliance certificates.
- Prepare relevant balance sheet reconciliations and ensure all reconciliations are completed satisfactorily and on time.
- Undertake projects and provide support and analysis as required by the business
