National Broadband Ireland (NBI) is currently accepting applications for the role of Senior - Financial Accountant to join their growing team!

KEY OBJECTIVES / ACCOUNTABILITIES:

NBI is looking for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant who wants to jump in head-first and help scale a mission-driven company experiencing rapid growth. You will Ensure that the Company’s accounting and reporting platform / systems meets the Company’s needs and produces financial information of the highest integrity that complies with all relevant standards and best practice.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

  • Qualified Accountant with minimum 5 years of relevant post qualification experience, ideally with 2 years in a similar role
  • Detailed knowledge of latest accounting standards including FRS102
  • Exposure to the construction and telecommunications industries would be a distinct advantage
  • Outstanding internal and external communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to connect with people.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done. Be willing and able to “roll up sleeves” and apply them self to any task.
  • Driven personality with a strong team ethic.
  • Excellent ambassador for NBI, promoting the organisation and role modelling NBI’s values.

Responsibilities:

Management & Regulatory Financial Accounting

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts to include P&L, BS and Cashflow Statement and variance analysis.
  • Preparation of statutory financial statements including Consolidated Accounts under FRS and IFRS accounting for legal entities within the investment structure.
  • Review and reconcile all Intercompany transactions on a monthly basis.
  • Fixed Asset Management including streamlining the capitalisation process and development of detailed asset tracking process.
  • Detailed reporting and accounting of all build and connection projects.
  • Participate in review and resolution of technical accounting matters, including revenue recognition and finance lease management.
  • Inventory accounting - Ensure appropriate controls in place to track all inventory issued to contractors / sub-contractors for build or connection purposes and any wastage is within agreed parameters.
  • Accurate accounting for RCT, VAT, PAYE/PRSI and CT, ensuring timely filing of all returns and payments
  • Maintain the company chart of accounts in order to comply with all statutory, management and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance of appropriate accounting policies for the Company’s activities.
  • Maintain appropriate processes to ensure the integrity and completeness of the financial information.
  • Liaise with Internal and external auditors to ensure timely and accurate completion of audit.
  • Participate in cross functional meetings to ensure effective controls are in place from a Finance perspective.
  • Manage/mentor members of the financial operations team
  • Other ad hoc projects are required
