Job Description
Reporting to the Group Financial Operations Manager, this role will be responsible for the Financial Accounting duties for Nearmap Global divisions including Technology, Engineering, Product and Survey Operations. Working collaboratively with Global Business Partners in ensuring the accurate financial data are maintained, providing valuable and meaningful feedback and recommendation on tracking their performance and keeping business alignment.
- Responsibility for the timely and accurate review of vendor bills, purchase orders, credit card and expense reports
- Accountability for the month-end close schedule incl accruals, prepayments etc
- Timely completion of relevant balance sheet reconciliations
- Management of the Fixed Asset Register, including Tangible and Intangible capitalisation and asset onboarding, depreciation and applicable revaluation, transfer and disposals.
- P&L review with meaningful variance analysis to support Business Partner’s division result review for monthly sign-off.
- Regulatory/tax compliance in relation to BAS, FBT, Payroll taxes, ABS surveys and ATO liaison
- Contribute to monthly management reporting, annual audit and statutory reporting
- Assisting Commercial Finance in annual budget and quarterly forecast working, providing actual spending and trend analysis
- Lead/contribute towards development or improvement of policies and procedures.
- Lead/contribute towards the systems improvements incl Netsuite administration
- Manage and develop Assistant Accountant including providing guidance/direction to other junior finance team members
QUALIFICATIONS
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting
- CPA/CA qualification or nearing completion
- 5 years’ experience in an accounting field especially financial accounting/reporting
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with various mid to large accounting systems (e.g. Oracle Netsuite and Concur preferable)
- Excellent time management skills and commitment for delivery
- Strong Problem-solving skills and ability to establish the applicable process and procedures.
