ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE TO SUCCEED

  • Qualified accountant ideally with 2+ Years PQE, ideally in industry.
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel essential.
  • SAGE 200 experience desired but not essential.
  • Commercial focused accountant.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Energetic, with a high level of initiative, along with the ability to prioritise workload and aptitude for hard work.
  • Displays initiative and proactive approach.
  • Open, flexible, and willing to undergo change and process improvements.
  • Experience working with large volume of transactions.
  • Experience in the utilities sector an advantage but not essential.
  • Powerbi or Tableau or SQL knowledge desired but not essential.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE

You are an ambitious fully qualified accountant that enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. This is an exciting opportunity to support new business sectors.
The successful candidate will have a strong financial and analytical ability and will be able to demonstrate experience of interpreting and analysing large volumes of data. They will have a proven record of reporting accurate month end accounts with appropriate controls to safeguard business assets.

YOUR NEW KEY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preparation & reporting of monthly accounts to include supporting reconciliations.
  • Deliver a detailed analytical review of p&l comparing actuals to budget & prior year.
  • Developing commercial reports to give insightful Gross margin variance analysis.
  • Implementation of new processes and controls for new business sectors.
  • Assist in forecast modelling for new business sectors.
  • Assist with improving efficiencies through automation within the finance function.
  • Developing reports & KPI’s to improve turnaround time of deliverables.
  • Liaise with AR team & management of aged debtors reporting.
  • Ownership of annual budgets (including cashflow forecasting)
  • Work with the business to identify and understand their financial management information needs
