JOB DESCRIPTION

This position will assist the VP of Performance & Risk Management in coordinating the consolidation, performance management, and analysis activities of the Business Development sector across Europe. Responsibilities include defining and monitoring Performance KPI metrics and conducting tailored portfolio analyses to provide Europe Management with insights into portfolio performance. The role entails defining and implementing essential Performance Management concepts, processes, and the supporting systems and tools necessary for the business’s effective and efficient performance management.
Business Development in Europe spans from the initial Greenfield development of projects to the ‘Ready to Build’ phase, encompassing the permitting and planning stages. Europe boasts a substantial Business Development pipeline of approximately 24GW projects, with operations in 11 countries utilizing various renewable technologies, including Solar, Wind, Grid, and Hydro. This role is crucial in unifying all European activities across these nations and involves a broad spectrum of stakeholders throughout the value chain.
The incumbent will actively collaborate with numerous stakeholders within the organization to aid, challenge, guide, and endorse best practices in performance management for Business Development activities. This includes consolidating, comprehending, and presenting performance data to verify alignment with our strategic objectives. Fulfilling group reporting obligations is also a key aspect of this role.
The position is located within the ‘Europe Finance’ department, under the ‘Performance & Risk Management’ team, which consists of 10 members spread across Norway, the UK, and Germany. The role includes one direct report and is supported by the Financial Advisor for Business Development.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Develop comprehensive performance management concepts, support tools, analysis, and KPI reporting for Business Development.
  • Lead the coordination of monthly portfolio updates, including SCEPTRE enhancements and scenario execution analysis, ensuring alignment of assumptions and presentation to senior management.
  • Serve as the primary contact for Europe-wide Business Development portfolio information and analysis for both internal and external reporting.
  • Manage Business Development Segment information for business planning and quarterly forecasting.
  • Oversee tools and reports for Business Development reporting and control, including the Europe Portfolio Dashboard, in partnership with Financial Systems teams.
  • Monitor and challenge the performance of E assets within the E scorecard, staying informed of risks and prioritized actions to achieve company-wide objectives.
  • Prepare analyses to update the Europe Management Team on trends, opportunities, and risks in the pipeline.
  • Promote continuous improvement within performance management, working with the finance business partner team in E and the group CFO area.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to streamline processes and foster synergies across various countries.
  • Responsible for line management of one team member.
