Description:

SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST, ACCOUNTING AND COMPLIANCE

Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for performing a variety of tax and accounting functions within the Accounting & Compliance department including corporate tax returns, sales tax filings, tax audits, employee tax related forms, account reconciliations and journal entries. This position reports directly to Senior Manager, Accounting and Compliance and is the primary operational contact with Company’s taxation authorities. Assisting with the month end close cycle, external audit and carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Professional Accounting designation (CPA) or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years tax preparation and compliance experience for corporations
  • Experience in reporting and dealing with external auditors

  • Knowledge of corporate, sales & payroll taxes
  • Knowledge of accounting principles
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong Excel skills (pivot table, vlookup, sumif)

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for preparation and/or review of all Company tax returns including income tax, and sales/commodity tax and the coordination of tax audits
  • Lead on sales tax preparation, filings, and analysis
  • Organization and creation of T2200’s and reconciliation to employee expense management system
  • Lead projects to simplify and improve tax filings
  • Preparation of monthly journal entries
  • Ensure all account reconciliations are in good standing and with solid backup. Perform analytical work on account balances and system transactions as required
  • Responsible for the accounting for all year-end payroll reporting and related activities
  • Assist with interim and year end audits as required
  • Lead tax depreciation process for US group entity
  • Other duties as assigned by manager
