Job Description
- Financial Planning, Analysis and Reporting
- Prepare budgets in context of long range planning, annual plan or monthly forecasts and monitor/ analyze business performance against those benchmarks.
- Create and present high-quality financial management reports and make recommendations to senior management.
- Ensure accurate and timely delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Develop financial models and analyze financial performance specific to manufacturing operations.
- Prepare month-end closing activities, perform monthly cost reclasses and inter-company billings
- Decision Support and ad-hoc analysis
- Interpret financial information and provide insights to support decision-making in manufacturing processes.
- Act as a financial advisor to the site senior management, helping them create and manage their budgets.
- Actively contribute to financial projects as directed by management, specifically those related to manufacturing improvements.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and provide analytical support for special projects and manufacturing initiatives.
- Work closely with other departments including Manufacturing, Maintenance, Quality and IT to ensure alignment of financial goals.
- Financial Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and policies in the manufacturing site.
- Assist in audit preparation and coordinate with auditors during audits.
- Maintain compliance with internal controls and accounting principles.
- Cost Management
- Analyze production costs, pricing, variable contributions, and the company’s actual performance compared to business plans.
- Identify trends and variances in production costs, and provide recommendations for cost containment.
- Track and report on operational efficiency and productivity metrics.
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial analysis, reporting, and strategic planning within the manufacturing site.
- Implement best practices in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
- Team Leadership
- Mentor and guide junior analysts in financial analysis techniques, Excel modeling, and presentation skills.
- Promote a culture of data-driven decision-making across the finance team.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Educational Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- A Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.
- Experience
- Minimum of about 5 years of experience in financial analysis, planning, and reporting.
- Proven experience in the manufacturing industry is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and financial reporting tools.
- Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, pivot tables, and complex formulas.
- Familiarity with financial analysis software and tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate into actionable insights.
- Knowledge
- Deep understanding of financial principles and accounting practices.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, cost accounting, and inventory management.
- Awareness of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
- Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and implementing solutions.
- Leadership and Collaboration
- Proven ability to lead and mentor junior team members.
- Strong collaborative skills, with experience working cross-functionally with various departments (e.g., Manufacturing, Quality, IT, etc).
