The Booking.com FP&A team is looking to hire a Senior Financial Analyst to join Accommodations FP&A team to support the further growth of the US market.
This position offers the opportunity to drive financial decision making for a key company priority. We are currently looking for an entrepreneurial Senior Financial Analyst to be part of the dynamic and fast-paced Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team. In this role you will report to a Senior Manager of the Accommodations Business Unit FP&A team. You will be working in our office in Amsterdam.
You will be required to provide strong financial and analytical support to the US leadership team. The decision makers for a key priority for the company. You will have to bridge what the data tell you and how that could help decision-making on a wide array of topics. Such as marketing, pricing and supply strategy.
You will be supporting the planning and forecasting cycles for both financial and operational business metrics. This includes revenues, expenses and other important KPIs. You will also be be responsible for providing regular actionable insights to senior US leadership in order to inform them on operational and financial performance. In addition you will be supporting the US product teams with development of business cases and performance management of their area’s
Due to the rapid and continuous growth of the organization, the tasks and duties of this role will evolve over time. You will be keen to develop and grow within the role and challenge yourself to take on additional projects and responsibilities as they present themselves.

As Senior Financial Analyst you will be responsible for:

  • Support with forecasting, variance analysis and reporting of financial performance;
  • End to end P&L responsibility of the US P&L;
  • Drive further process and systems improvements in order to optimize the insights and speed at which these insights can be delivered.
  • Target setting of financial and non financial KPI’s and objectives;
  • Contribute to robust, scalable and insightful reporting for the alternative accommodations segment.
  • Proactively deliver intelligence based on data to support and advise the FP&A team and/or business partners whenever necessary;
  • Provide analytical support and contribute to strategic decision making;
  • Continuously seek ways to improve and optimize the existing reporting to fit with evolving requests from senior management;
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis, scenarios and benchmarking as needed.

As Financial Analyst you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Finance or other related field (preferred);
  • 5-7 years’ experience in a similar role;
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills;
  • High attention to detail and ability to connect the dots and reconcile multiple data sources;
  • Strong communication skills and ability to present to different audiences;
  • Self-driven mentality, proactively seeking to find solutions to problems and providing the best analytics possible to key decision makers
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel;
  • Experience with SQL, data mining, Microsoft VBA and reporting tools;
  • Ability to understand, work with and proactively advise and influence senior business partners;
  • Sees the headlines or big picture whilst having attention for the details;
  • Strong team-working skills with ability to work independently;
  • Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and working in an unstructured environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously and drive projects to completion.
